so here’s something I just learned about that I figured was interesting news for the whole entire internet:
in certain parts of Indonesia, it’s difficult to be of the punk persuasion because of strict Islamic dress and behavioral codes. you’re not allowed, for example, to have really sweet hair and the police will round you up—and all your buddies who also have really sweet hair—and shave it all off. wickedly unapologetic!
anyway it’s neat to see this activist subculture adopted in other parts of the world, especially where fierce religious dogma prohibits aspects of self expression. fight on, folks!
